I bought some round coasters and did some experiments with the pottery painting. I used some stickers to put unpainted ceramics directly and paint color over them.
After painted few layers, I removed the stickers carefully..
Then I added some details.
And the results were like this.
I like this one the most. I think the colours worked well. I need more practice and experiment!
Pottery painting studios are such a good idea to give many people opportunities to enjoy the ceramic painting. From small children to adults, people come to paint their favourite pottery, and come back to get them when their items are glazed and fired.
As energy bills go up dramatically, many of these businesses are struggling to keep their business now. But I hope these lovely places will survive.
Paints are thick and very different textures from watercolor painting, so I found a bit tricky to draw fine lines. (I need to practice!)
My hundred and daughters painted plates too. Everyone chose different design and really enjoyed the painting, also we enjoy using these plates.
I work in the pottery painting studio on weekends. I’m still beginner but I am learning little by little. These are the samples I made for customers. I really like the results and I would like to practice more.
